Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Thanks Anne for your comment. The conditions for shooting that day (light,not too much wind) were ideal the day I was photographing the iris. The location is the best I know of for finding such a large variety of Iris flowers.
